BUYING a home is an investment in your future. But if you are the successful bidder at this year’s Good Friday Appeal charity home auction, you will also be making an investment in the future of sick children.
A luxurious new house built and donated by Henley — the two-storey Palace 38 (pictured above) — will go under the hammer at an auction without a reserve price on Good Friday, April 14, at 2pm, with the money aiding the Royal Children’s Hospital.

The home is on land donated by Villawood Properties at the developer’s Armstrong community
in Mt Duneed, Geelong.
And if last year’s crowd is anything to go by, hundreds of people are expected to turn up. In 2016, more than 800 people attended the Good Friday auction in Mickleham, where the house-and-land package sold for $663,000, with every dollar donated to the hospital.
“The Good Friday Appeal for the Royal Children’s Hospital is synonymous with community spirit and giving and we are proud to play a part in such a worthwhile cause,” Henley’s Victorian building manager, Mark Glenn, said.

Henley has donated houses to the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal for the past 24 years.
This year is the eighth that the house has been built on land donated by Villawood Properties.
The house took five months to build with the help of 400 tradies and suppliers.
“We are humbled by the continued generosity of our suppliers and tradespeople, who, year after year, donate their time to help create a stunning home to be auctioned off for the Royal Children’s Hospital,” Mr Glenn said.
The four-bedroom Palace 38 has everything a family could desire. It is finished to the highest level, so all you need to do is move in.
Multiple living spaces, including a downstairs theatre room and an upstairs leisure area, provide plenty of options for home entertaining and offer flexible family living.

And a north-facing covered grand alfresco area off the open-plan living zone takes outdoor entertaining to the next level, providing an impressive space with a resort-style ambience.
Offering two bathrooms, two powder rooms, a separate study and a large laundry, this home
has functionality covered.
The gourmet kitchen has Caesarstone benchtops, extra-large Smeg stainless-steel appliances, plus a butler’s pantry with sink, Caesarstone benchtop and under-bench and overhead shelves.

The generously sized bedrooms are all upstairs. The main-bedroom suite is the epitome of indulgence with a large ensuite and dressing room, plus additional built-in robe.
Each of the three secondary bedrooms has a walk-in robe providing ample storage space.
Other standout features of the home include ducted heating and airconditioning throughout, a security system, professionally landscaped front and rear gardens, a driveway, fencing, letterbox, clothesline, window coverings, wall decor, feature high ceilings, plus soft furnishings and homewares donated from Cotton On’s Co:Home range.

The house has been built on a 599sq m block of land at Villawood’s flagship Armstrong community, which will eventually be home to more than 60,000 people.
Located in an enviable position on the Surf Coast, the house is just 10 minutes from Geelong’s CBD and close to some of Victoria’s top beaches.
“Geelong is experiencing a flourishing period of growth and we can’t wait to bring the charity home auction to the city this Easter,” Villawood Properties director Rory Costelloe said.
The well-serviced estate offers residents a picture-perfect lifestyle with everything they need virtually on their doorstep — schools, shops, wetlands, parks, walking and cycling tracks and sports fields. But the estate also offers residents a suite of exceptional facilities including the $7.5 million state-of-the-art Club Armstrong, complete with gym, tennis court, swimming pools and more, along with a premium waterfront dining precinct.
“The house-and-land package is sold at a no-reserve auction, so no matter what, one lucky bidder will end up owning this incredible new home,” Mr Costelloe said.
Since becoming involved in the charity home auction, Henley has raised more than $13.2 million for the cause and Villawood has raised $4.4 million — a massive contribution towards helping Victoria’s sick children in need.
